Vice President, Thomas Bills called the Regular Board Meeting of the Woodrow-Osceola Water Supply Corporation to order at 6:30 P.M., March 12, 2013. All Directors were present with the exception of President Richard Greenhill and Linda Hasselstrom. Also, Manager, Malcolm Tucker and one guest was present.

 

Item 5: Don Duke-Blue Cross Blue Shield

Mr. Duke addressed the Board about the 30% increase on Employee Health Insurance. He stated the policy period would be May 1, 2013 thru December 31, 2013, from the information he has available at this time. As of January 1, 2014, OBAMA CARE will go into effect and it is anyone’s guess what will happen. The premiums per employee will be $522.00 a month, which will be an increase of $134.08 per month- per employee. The Board thanked Mr. Duke for discussing the increase and giving us some insight on what little information he has about OBAMA CARE. He stated, he was always available for any questions or concerns we might have.

 

Item 2: Approve Minutes

Johnnie Bankston read the minutes from the February 12, 2013, Regular Board Meeting. Sandra Chilcutt made a motion to accept the minutes, with one correction. John Milburn seconded. Vote was unanimous.

 

Item 3: Directors Source and Application of Funds

Malcolm Tucker presented the Source and Application of Funds. John Milburn made a motion to accept the Source and Application of Funds as presented. Sandra Chilcutt seconded. Vote was unanimous.

 

Item 4: Well #7

Malcolm said,the tank had been completed and the painting crew moved in today and should finish painting by the end of the week. Also, the buildings are completed, the well pump should be installed shortly and the electrical systems completed soon. As it looks now, we should be up and running by April.

 

Item 6: Membership Changes

Charles Jones made a motion to accept 2 New Memberships, 1 Transfer, No Sell-backs and 2 Revokes- #1262 Terry Hafer and #234 Billy Wayne Warren. Jane Morgan seconded. Vote was unanimous.

Item 8: Directors and Manager Comments

John Milburn stated, he was really upset the way Insurance Companies are so out of step. Ray Mershawn said, he read that Federal Supplement Money for health insurance will only last until 2016. Sandra Chilcutt stated that rainfall doesn’t seem to be very promising and it was good Well #7 would be on line by the summer months. Jane Morgan asked, if Jane Turner had water. She said, she noticed she was on the cut-off list and her husband passed away. Malcolm said, her water was back on. Johnnie Bankston reminded the Board of the Annual Meeting, April 6, 2013. Thomas Bills stated, he thought the employee health insurance had been capped. Johnnie Bankston stated, yes it was capped many years ago, but we had continued to absorb the increases. Thomas also, asked Malcolm to recommend to the Board an increase for Rodney Votaw obtaining his CDL License.

 

Item 9: Executive Session

The Board adjourned to Executive Session at 7:50 P.M. Upon reconvening at 8:05 P.M., Vice President, Thomas Bills asked, Malcolm to advise the employees of the increase in their Health Insurance and they would have to do some cost sharing for the increase in premiums. Johnnie Bankston stated, Employee Health Insurance and CDL License increase would be placed on the April Agenda.

 

Item 10: Adjourn

Jane Morgan made a motion to adjourn at 8:10 P.M. Ray Mershawn seconded. Vote was unanimous.
