Vice President, Thomas Bills called the Regular Board Meeting of the Woodrow-Osceola Water Supply Corporation to order at 6:30 p.m., July 10, 2012. All Directors were present with the exception of President Richard Greenhill and Linda Hasselstrom. Also, Manager, Malcolm Tucker was present.

 

Item 2: Approve Minutes

Johnnie Bankston read the minutes from the June 12, 2012 Regular Board Meeting. John Milburn made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Jane Morgan seconded. Vote was unanimous.

 

Item 4: Uniforms

  1. Unifirst
  2. G & K
  3. Aramark

Vice President, Thomas Bills moved Uniforms next on the agenda. Jeff Howe representing Aramark gave a presentation on uniforms for 4 employees. The uniforms for each employee would consist of 11 long sleeve shirts, 11 pairs of Dickies jeans and 2 jackets. The cost in totality for 4 employees is $34.97weekly which includes laundry, insurance and service charge and the contract is for 60 months. John Milburn and Johnnie Bankston asked, if we could get Made In America and Jeff said, he would check. Ray Mershawn made a motion to accept the bid for a total of $34.97 per week for all four employees with, ½ to be paid by the Corporation and ½ paid by the employees, if Made In America is available we would pay as much as 5% more. John Milburn seconded. Vote was unanimous. Unifirst and G & K uniforms did not attend to present their presentation.

 

Item 3: Gary Parks Returned Check Fee

Mr. Parks was not in attendance and it was the consensus of the Board, he was responsible for the $55.00 fee.

 

Item 5: Directors Source and Application of Funds

Malcolm Tucker presented the Source and Application of Funds. After discussion, a motion was made by Sandra Chilcutt to accept the Source and Application of Funds as presented. Charles Jones seconded. Vote was unanimous.

 

Item 6: Hire Auditor

Johnnie Bankston made a motion to hire Evelyn Paraye to prepare the Corporation’s audit for the year 2011-2012. The motion was not seconded and the motion was dead. Ray Mershawn stated after 18 years we might hire someone with fresh eyes. Malcolm was asked to check with other auditors and on pricing. The item was tabled until the August meeting and will appear on the agenda.

 

Item 7: Well #7

Malcolm stated, we were waiting for a reply from the article appearing in the newspaper and we were good to go when it is received.

 

Item 8: Jawbone VFD Drive

USDA approved monies could be used from Well #6 to pay for the VFD Drive at a cost of $13,656.

 

Item 9: Membership Changes

Charles Jones made a motion to accept 2 New Memberships, 4 Transfers, No Sellbacks and No Revokes. Jane Morgan seconded. Vote was unanimous.

Item 11: Directors and Manager Comments

Ray Mershawn asked, if the Security Camera were on line. Malcolm said, not yet, but Inter Doctors had almost completed installing the antenna on the elevated storage tank. Sandra Chilcutt asked about 6175 Child Support on the new budget. Malcolm stated, Eric Haffner pays child support and it is taken directly out of his wages. Also, Malcolm stated all the Directors have a copy of the 2012-2013 Budget and said $6,000.00 was budgeted in office supplies for a receiver. Johnnie Bankston stated the Budget needed to be reviewed and any changes discussed, due to being voted on and approved at the August Meeting. Also, she asked about the double hook-up on west FM 309. Malcolm stated, they were sent a letter giving them 30 days or their water will be disconnected. Johnnie said, we need to be vigilant on these double hook-ups. Thomas Bills said, he had seen Richard on the 4th of July in the Hillsboro parade and said he was doing well, except he was weak.

John Milburn made a motion to adjourn at 8:25 p.m. Jane Morgan seconded. Vote was unanimous.
